DJ Lamont

If you've ever heard a fantastic DJ in San Francisco, chances are they learned from Lamont. Lamont’s Mission District Studio is a buzzing training ground for up and coming Bay Area talent. Students train hard, and they emerge ready to compete in one of the most DJ saturated Cities in the world

A native of New York, Lamont came to San Francisco in 1996. Since then he has been a fixture at SF Festivals. Equally comfortable with crowds of 10,000 and 50 dancers, Lamont has experience spanning 4 decades and began his DJ rise during the Studio 54 Disco Days. Lamont has embedded himself into the San Francisco DJ Scene, and is friendly fixture of collaboration and artistic growth.

Lamont also hosts a weekly Deep House show on San Francisco’s KPOO 89.5. The show is listened to Globally and regularly receives international call ins.

DJ Lamont believes that music is not just sounds, tempo, and rhythm: DJing and Music is communication, “When I am spinning I achieve moments of clarity and purpose, I become very emotional. I am able to see the possibility of humans to be more than who we are. Spinning music brings me joy and I share that joy through each individual song I select for my guests.”
